SellMyBusiness.com provides a simple-to-use, single online source for searching or listing businesses, real estate and equipment to buy, sell or lease.  However, as easy as we try to make the website to use, there will always be questions. 

1. Do you earn a commission on my sale?

No we do not. We are not broker/dealers and do not take a commission on any sale. Our purpose is to provide you with an opportunity to list and sell or search and buy businesses, real estate and equipment with no commission expense. However, we are also a complementary service to business and equipment brokers. Many people need the assistance or comfort of working with a broker expert for their transaction. In those cases, we provide an effective listing service to advertise your business or assets with a global reach.

 

2. Can I list any type of business?

You may list any type of business as long as it is a legal enterprise within your country, you have clear title of ownership, and it meets our website’s Conditions of Use.

 

3. Can I list any item?

You may sell any item as long as it is related to your business, such as office equipment, computers, machinery, raw materials, excess inventory and transportation vehicles and meets our website’s Conditions of Use. For other types of items we recommend a listing service such as eBay or Craig’s List.

 

4. Can I get my money back if my company or equipment doesn’t sell?

We are a listing service that provides sellers the opportunity to advertise their company or assets. We do not control your pricing nor can we control the economic conditions in your region that can affect a sale. Therefore, we cannot offer any refunds if your business, real estate or equipment does not sell.

 

5. My item sold, now what do I do?

Congratulations on your success. Please log into your account and select the item that you wish to un-list by its record number. All you need to do is click on “Close this Listing” and the listing will be removed from the website.

 

6. My item hasn’t sold yet, but I want to extend my listing time. How do I do that without reentering all the information?

Before your listing time period has elapsed, log into your account and select the item you wish to continue listing. There is an opportunity for you to change your listing features and extend your listing time.

 

7. Can I change the description of the item I’ve listed?

Yes you can. Anytime before your listing time period has elapsed you can log into your account, select the item you wish to modify. All elements of your listing are shown. You may modify any of them. Once you have completed the changes, click on “Save”.

 

8. Can I add features to my listing?

Yes, you may choose to enhance your listing with such items as adding a photo or utilizing the “Spotlighted Items” area. Log into your account and select the item you wish to enhance with additional features. You will see the currently selected features and options. Check those you wish to add. Click “Save”. If additional charges are required, you will be directed to a payment screen. Once payment is made and approved, your listing will have your new features.

 

9. What is the Business VaultSM?

The Business VaultSM confidential listing service is an option for sellers that want privacy for their listing. In some cases, it is important that the information about a sale, or that a sale will even take place, be kept confidential. In other cases, sellers want to ensure any inquiries they receive are from financially qualified sources. The Business VaultSM confidential listing service provides both the privacy and pre-qualification to fill these needs for our clients.

 

10. I can’t find my listing.

There are a few reasons why you may not see your listing.
 

No products are listed until a listing fee has been paid and verified. The process only takes a few moments. When it is completed and approved you will receive your listing number on the computer screen. You will also receive an email confirming your listing order and listing number. You can simply locate your listing on our website by typing in the listing number into the “Search” window and clicking “Go”. If you did not receive a listing number and payment receipt two things may have occurred: 1) your payment was not approved (try listing and paying again, possibly with a different payment method), or; 2) you exited the listing payment processing step before payment was verified and accepted (try listing and paying again).

If you tried locating your listing some of the search criteria such as “Type”, “Postal Code” or “State”, but couldn’t find it, you may need to continue to scroll through all listings (we have thousands) – yours may just not have appeared yet.

11. How do I get in touch with the owners of the listing I am interested in?

Each listing provides contact information for the owner or their representative, either phone, email or an address. If the listing is in our Business VaultSM confidential listing service, once you indicate an interest in the listing by filling in your contact information, one of our representatives will contact you shortly.

 

12. Can I list items no matter what country I am in?

Yes you may. SellMyBusiness.com lists items from all over the world. We will also be launching local language versions of our website in the future.

 

13. I need professional assistance or services. How does that work?

We offer a free service for buyers and sellers to connect with professional service providers. Visit the “Professional Assistance & Financing” page and select the services you need. Fill in your location and click “Find”. You will be presented with a service provider for each specialty need you indicated. If we don’t currently have a service provider in your area for a particular specialty, there will be a notice telling you we need to find a service provider in your area. You will be asked to provide us with your contact information so we can get back in touch with you (we will contact you within 48 hours). We will attempt to quickly locate a service provider and put you in touch with them.

 

14. I am a professional service provider and would like to be added to your list. How do I do that?
